Superintendents and board presidents from Berks County’s 18 school districts participated in a professional development workshop on Thursday, January 28. The 22nd Annual Superintendents’ and Board Presidents’ Workshop was held virtually this year due to the pandemic.
Participants heard from Mr. Will Smeltzer, Training Manager for the Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA), who presented on the topic of “Leadership through Crisis and Beyond, the Board Leadership Team of Two.” The session offered a valuable opportunity to discuss best practices and lessons learned during the COVID-19 health emergency.
PSBA also provided resources on the foundations of board leadership and other information to support the board leadership team. The networking session was well received and provided valuable information to assist school leaders as they navigate ahead.
