BCIU Continuing Professional Education Logo

Continuing Professional Education (CPE) courses are offered by BCIU. These graduate level courses offer credit toward a Level II Instructional or Educational Specialist Certificate, a Master’s Equivalency Certificate, Act 48, self-improvement, or professional development. All participants are strongly urged to comply with PDE’s policy of 100% attendance for full credit.

Courses are considered graduate-level study and are designed to meet the same level of rigor as those offered at universities. Courses are offered during the fall, winter, spring, and summer.

Inside Berks Business IBB Logo

insideBERKSbusiness is a teachers in the workplace initiative that connects local educators with businesses in Berks County. The program gives educators valuable insights into the current workforce climate. Fortified with the knowledge gleaned from their internship experience, educators will be able to enrich their career education instruction and counseling efforts.

In 2019, more 31 interns from 12 school districts, two career and technology centers, the Berks County Intermediate Unit, and the Janus School participated in the insideBERKSbusiness program. Along with the knowledge gained, educators will also receive a $500 stipend and 40 Act 48 hours for completing the program.
