Events and Conferences

Educators from across Berks County and beyond gather for the Berks County Intermediate Unit’s annual events and conferences. The events feature some of the most recognized national speakers as well as the most talented local educators, all with the goal of inspiring and challenging educators to take what they learn and apply it to their own classrooms.

Core Connections

This two-day conference for educators emphasizes instructional best practices, innovation, and practical classroom application.

The BCIU’s Leadership Series is designed for teams of district-level curriculum leaders, school-based administrators, and teacher leaders.

The Berks County Intermediate Unit, through its Office of Professional Development and Curriculum, offers a range of tools and strategies for educators to ensure students get the most out of classroom instruction.

Technology for Educators

The Berks County Intermediate Unit can help educators better integrate technology into the classroom. Staff are available for consultations and can assist in getting you up and running with cutting-edge tools to create a unique, successful learning environment.

The Berks County Intermediate Unit provides resources for school districts to help track and analyze school performance. Learn more about the data tools we offer to school districts in Berks County and beyond.

IDEA Services

The BCIU offers IDEA services to schools and districts through the Training and Consultative (TaC) provisions. Services are offered for assistive technology, low-incidence disabilities, paraprofessionals, safety care, transition assessment, and Indicator 13. 

Assistive Technology

The BCIU provides assistive technology support services to districts of Berks County through the Training and Consultative (TaC) provisions. 


Low Incidence Disabilities

The BCIU offers teachers of students with Low Incidence Disabilities individual student consultation and classroom consultation services.



The BCIU offers comprehensive training for newly hired Paraprofessionals as well as Paraprofessionals who have been in the field for a while.


Safety Care Training

Safety-Care training from the BCIU is intended to prepare staff to safely prevent and manage dangerous behavior.


Transition Assessment

Indicator 13

BCIU Transition Consultants provide targeted and sustained training and technical assistance in developing and implementing effective secondary transition plans.
