The Berks County Committee on Legislative Action (COLA) was established to provide school districts with a forum for review, analysis, and comment on state and federal legislation and the regulations affecting education in Berks County and across the Commonwealth. The committee speaks with one voice to advocate in Harrisburg and Washington, D.C., on behalf of the more than 70,000 students in Berks County, their families, and our community. The committee is comprised of school board members, superintendents, and business officials from each of the 18 public school districts in Berks County, as well as representatives from the Berks County Intermediate Unit.
COLA works closely with state advocacy groups, including the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials (PASBO), the Pennsylvania Association of Intermediate Units (PAIU), the Pennsylvania Association of School Administrators (PASA), and the Pennsylvania School Boards Association (PSBA) to determine areas of priority during legislative sessions.
