The Executive Office oversees the corporate communications of the BCIU. It publicizes and promotes the agency’s many programs and services while facilitating effective communication among BCIU departments and the schools and communities they serve.

The Executive Offices staff also provides professional communications and marketing communication services to external clients, including schools and nonprofit organizations.

Additional functions of the Office include coordinating the BCIU’s relations with the mass media and producing official publications, such as NewsLink, BCIU’s monthly newsletter for board members and school administrators, which spotlights services and programs of interest to schools; Unison, the agency’s employee newsletter; and the State of the Unit Report, the BCIU’s annual report to the community.

A recent addition to the Executive Office responsibilities is the administration of the county-wide All Hazards Planning. – a coordinated approach to emergency preparedness encouraging effective and consistent response to any disaster or emergency, regardless of the cause.
