CAMP CONNECT

Camp Connect 2017
Camp Connect provides students with the opportunity to come together to learn new ways of dealing with their grief, and to meet other children and families who have experienced similar loss.  Specially trained counselors, nurses, and college interns from across Berks County provides support with a one-to-one staff to student ratio.

This year, Camp Connect will be held at two locations:

Temple/Muhlenberg Area – June 19-22, 2017 | download a camp flyer
Reading/Hampden Heights – July 31-August 3, 2017 | download a camp flyer

Camp Connect provides the opportunity, at no cost, for children and teens to:

  • Be with others their own age who are also grieving
  • Learn ways to identify and express painful emotions
  • Develop new skills to cope with their loss

This four-day experience will be filled with fun activities, art, music, and games combined with grief education and emotional support. Specially trained volunteers and mental health professionals facilitate all camp activities.

Camp Connect is offered through Berks County Intermediate Unit and is supported by a collaborative partnership from Berks County Mental Health/Developmental Disabilities Program, Jan’s Circle of Friends, local hospice bereavement programs, social agencies, and
therapy dogs.
