The Office of Early Childhood and Student Services administers all direct service programs to children and students. Programs include Child Care, Head Start, Early Intervention, Alternative Education, Special Education, Nonpublic School Services, social services, and other student and family programs and services.
Dr. Cheri L. Woyurka has been with the BCIU since 1991. She serves the BCIU as director of the Office of Early Childhood and Student Services. Dr. Woyurka has experience working with children from preschool through school age in regular education, special education and alternative education settings. Throughout her career, Dr. Woyurka has worked as a classroom teacher, itinerant teacher, and supervisor of special education.
Dr. Woyurka earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary/early childhood education from Millersville University, a master’s degree in special education and Supervisory Certification in Special Education from Penn State University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Wilkes University.
Michelle Reichard-Huff serves as the assistant director of the Office of Early Childhood and Student Services. Michelle started her career in education by working and teaching preschool in a family-owned child care center in New Jersey. In 2004, Michelle began working in the BCIU Early Intervention Program as a school psychologist. Over the past six years, she has served as a supervisor of student services in early intervention, school-age special education, and alternative education.
Michelle earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology and her Educational Specialist degree in school psychology from Lehigh University. She also completed her supervisory certification at Lehigh. Michelle is currently enrolled in a program to obtain a superintendent’s letter of eligibility through California University of Pennsylvania.
