47th ANNUAL CONVENTION
OF BERKS COUNTY SCHOOL DIRECTORS

Annual Convention
Close to 150 Berks County school board members and administrators attended the 47th Annual Convention of Berks County School Directors on Thursday, April 27, 2017, at the Millmont Elementary School / Reading School District. The Convention is held each year to approve the slate of BCIU Board representatives whose terms are to be renewed or begin July 1, and to hear a noteworthy speaker of interest to all  groups. Traditionally, schools take turns hosting the convention, giving participants the opportunity to network and learn about new/renovated buildings and innovative educational initiatives in the county.

We appreciate the efforts of the Reading School District team who took care of the myriad of details to plan a successful evening. Students were involved through-out the event, greeting participants, acting as tour guides, and showcasing their talents (RHS Castleairs and RHS String Ensemble). Seniors Tahj Morales and Frances Colon did an exceptional job in their roles of Master of Ceremony and Co-Host, keeping the  program on target. They all did a wonderful job of representing Reading School District. School directors and administrators were able to witness throughout the evening the pride the students and staff have in their school.

During the business meeting, the following BCIU board members were approved:
