This morning, more than 450 school administrators from Berks County’s 18 public school districts, two career and technology centers, and the BCIU came together at the 2025 Berks County Schools and BCIU Administrators’ Conference, hosted at Muhlenberg High School.

Attendees connected with job-alike colleagues, received important leadership updates, and explored professional learning opportunities for the year ahead.

The morning concluded with an inspiring keynote from Dr. Adolph Brown, who encouraged leaders to “Lead By Example,” emphasizing trust, integrity, and alignment between words and actions.

Thank you to Dr. Joseph Macharola, Superintendent, and the Muhlenberg School District for hosting, and to all who attended. We look forward to a collaborative and student-centered 2025-2026 school year!

“When I was little, I attended the Head Start program, where I studied and built the foundation that helped me be successful in life. When I was 10 years old, my brother was born, and he also attended Head Start. Then I had my daughter, and she attended Head Start as well. As a mother, I became involved in the program, volunteering in the classroom and contributing my knowledge in education. Now, I worked with Head Start for the last six years of my life as a Family Engagement Worker, and it has been one of the best experiences I've had because I can understand my families from various perspectives and see the impact the program has had on my life and the lives of others. Today, I help my families, just as I once received help when I was a young mother seeking to improve myself and help my family do the same.” - Zeny, Staff Member, Previous Parent and Student, and Luna Bella, Previous Head Start Student

“Head Start has helped me and my son with his speech. Before, he wouldn’t talk, not even in his native language, and now he can speak clearly in Spanish and has learned English. He has also improved with numbers and colors. I feel very happy with everything that my son has accomplished in the program. The parent meetings have been very positive for me because I gained knowledge and was able to understand my child more and meet other families. This program should stay open because it gives a lot of support to parents and helps them to lighten the load that comes with parenthood.” -Yusetti, Parent, and Amin, Head Start Student
