“The Head Start program has helped my son achieve meaningful learning experiences and improved personal development, such as talking, participating and socializing with his peers, paying attention, following directions, and completing assignments. He has also been able to practice new skills independently and be persistent in learning new things. What I like most about the program is the beautiful learning environment designed with children in mind and the spaces that allow them to experience freedom and autonomy.” -Domitila, Parent, and Oliver, Current Berks County Head Start Program Student

“Head Start was instrumental when it came to providing my youngest son with a strong educational foundation, essential health services, and the social-emotional development necessary to thrive in school and beyond. As a single mother of two boys, I depended on Head Start services to attend college full-time. Head Start allowed my son to grow and learn in a comfortable and extremely nurturing environment. The program began the journey to my son’s success in school. He is currently in 11th grade and has been an honor roll student from elementary school to the present day.” -Crystal Strunk, Parent of Former Berks County Head Start Student

“What I like most about the Head Start program is that it doesn’t just focus on the children’s education; it also focuses on ensuring the entire environment is adequate, offering help and guidance to parents with any means the program may have to support children and their families. As a mother, it’s the best program for me because, having two young children, I can feel confident going to work and knowing my child is in good hands.” —Albania, Parent, and Nolan, Current Head Start Program Student
