Kathy Jacobs, Itinerant Emotional Support Teacher in the Office of Early Childhood & Student Services, has been recognized as the BCIU June 2026 Employee of the Month!
Over the past year and a half, Kathy has become a highly valued member of the BCIU team, supporting students and staff across multiple districts with exceptional dedication, expertise, and compassion. Jessica Head, Program Administrator, shares, “Kathy is always one step ahead and willing to get creative to support students and staff in any way possible. She is a lifelong learner who not only grows professionally but also shares her knowledge with others—making her an outstanding educator and mentor.”
Kathy’s true passion lies in helping students grow both socially and emotionally. She finds her greatest reward in watching her students build confidence and develop the skills they need to succeed in school, at home, and in their communities. Even with limited time each week, she establishes strong, trusting relationships that foster growth and achievement.
Outside of work, Kathy enjoys spending time with her husband, Victor, and their daughters, Giavanna and Cecily. She loves visiting them at college, cheering on Philadelphia sports teams, enjoying Disney experiences, and relaxing at the beach.
A fun fact about Kathy: During her college years, she was a radio DJ and wrote an advice column titled “Dear Kate” for her university’s newspaper!
Kathy’s passion, creativity, and commitment make her a standout educator and true champion for students. The BCIU congratulates her on this well-deserved recognition!
