Nitida “Nity” Harrison, Bus Driver, CDL Trainer, and Third-Party Examiner in the Office of Operations, has been named Employee of the Month for May 2026.
Since joining the BCIU in 2023, Nity has made a remarkable impact through her work in transportation and training. She is known for her energy, dedication, and willingness to go above and beyond, whether supporting daily bus operations, leading CDL training classes, or assisting colleagues across the office. Her reliability, adaptability, and strong work ethic help ensure both her team and trainees succeed.
Transportation leadership shared, “Nity consistently brings energy, commitment, and care to her role. She has been instrumental in the growth of our CDL training program and is always ready to step in and support wherever needed. Her professionalism, creativity, and positive attitude make her an invaluable part of the team.”
Nity has played a key role in creating a supportive and motivating training environment. Through thoughtful initiatives, such as incorporating daily and weekly inspirational messages, she boosts morale and builds confidence among trainees as they work toward earning their CDL licenses. She is also a strong advocate for teamwork, often reinforcing a shared sense of purpose by reminding everyone, “We are BCIU.”
Born in the Dominican Republic and raised in Miami, Florida, and Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Nity now resides in Shillington with her 5-year-old daughter, Yuliet. Before joining the BCIU, she worked in banking and credit. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, camping, and learning interesting facts she says she may one day share “in a nursing home.”
