COLA Continues Collaborative Advocacy Efforts

Berks County Committee on Legislative Action (COLA) members met with Hannah Barrick, J.D., Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials (PASBO) at the COLA meeting on April 14 at the BCIU Main Office. Hannah provided a timely overview of the 2026-2027 budget, education funding, and important policy considerations impacting schools. These insights will be invaluable as schools prepare for future financial and policy decisions.

COLA meetings are held three times during the school year and continue to serve as a forum for collaboration among school leaders. Guided by Co-Chairs Andrew Potteiger, Superintendent of the Brandywine Heights Area School District, and Dr. Greg M. Miller, Superintendent of the Fleetwood Area School District; and supported by Dr. Jill Hackman, Executive Director of the BCIU, COLA brings together school board members, superintendents, career and technology directors, business managers, and state-level partners to identify priorities, develop unified messaging, and strengthen relationships with legislators.
