Briana Hicks, Professional Learning & Special Projects Coordinator in the Office of Professional Learning (OPL), has been named employee of the month for March 2026.
During her four years with the BCIU, Briana has earned a reputation for her reliability, initiative, and commitment to supporting both colleagues and external partners. In her role within the OPL, Briana supports a wide range of initiatives, including collaborative work with the Pennsylvania Department of Education and other statewide partners.
Briana is valued for her positive, solutions-oriented approach and her ability to consistently deliver high-quality work on time. She is also known for her creativity and flexibility, often contributing ideas that help improve processes, strengthen partnerships, and address complex challenges. She balances the needs of multiple stakeholders while maintaining strong relationships with colleagues and partners, helping foster a collaborative and supportive team culture.
Originally from Sinking Spring, Briana now lives in Shillington with her husband of five years and their two sons—two-year-old Parker and their newest addition, one-month-old Lincoln. She is a graduate of Wilson High School and the University of Pittsburgh.
Outside of work, Briana is an avid reader who rarely goes anywhere without her Kindle. A fun fact: she was a cheerleader from age seven through high school—an experience that helped shape the enthusiasm and team spirit she brings to her work today.
