The Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) hosted students from across the County on March 16, 2026, for a teenTALK Student Roundtable conducted by Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday.
Held at the BCIU Main Office, the roundtable offered students a space to share their personal experiences and perspectives in an unscripted, authentic setting. Through guided discussion, participants explored how emerging technologies and online platforms influence their daily lives, relationships, mental health, and school environments.
More than 40 junior and senior students participated, representing districts and schools across Berks County, including the BCIU Pathways to Adult Living (PAL) Program, Berks Catholic High School, Boyertown Area School District, Exeter Township School District, Muhlenberg School District, Reading School District, Tulpehocken Area School District, and Wyomissing Area School District.
“The most important voices in conversations like this are from the students themselves,” said Dr. Jill Hackman. “Their experiences and perspectives help us better understand the real impact technology and social media are having, and we are grateful to the Attorney General’s Office for creating this opportunity for students to share openly and help shape meaningful solutions.”
The Berks County event is part of a larger series of teenTALK student roundtables conducted by the Attorney General’s Office across the Commonwealth. Insights from these discussions will inform a student-centered report that highlights key issues and recommendations from participating students.
By hosting this conversation, the BCIU continues its commitment to elevating student voices and partnering with organizations across Pennsylvania to promote student well-being and school safety.
