On October 7, 2025, school district superintendents and career and technology education directors from across Berks County participated in the Berks County Agriculture Workshop, an immersive experience that highlighted innovations, career pathways, and partnerships in the agricultural industry.
Hosted by the BCIU in collaboration with the Berks County Department of Agriculture, the workshop featured expert presentations on agricultural innovation and workforce needs, tours of F.M. Brown’s Sons Inc. and Unique Pretzel Bakery, and a collaborative roundtable discussion focused on connecting classrooms to real-world agricultural opportunities.
“Engaging directly with local ag-based businesses provides insights that strengthen career pathways for students,” said Stacy Dunleavy, BCIU Program Administrator. The workshop concluded with a roundtable discussion on supporting schools, reviewing the latest County Agricultural Study, and exploring connections to Career Ready Berks pathways.
