The Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) Education Centre is embracing positivity with a new addition—the Kindness Wall! This dedicated space invites staff to share uplifting messages, compliments, and words of encouragement to brighten the day of both colleagues and students.

Alongside the Kindness Wall, the Education Centre hosted “Kindness Spirit Week” from Monday, February 10, through Friday, February 14. Each day featured a unique theme, encouraging staff and students to spread kindness in creative and meaningful ways.

“The Kindness Wall is a new initiative designed to foster positivity and camaraderie throughout the Education Centre,” shared Megan Pankonien, Assistant Program Administrator in the Office of Early Childhood and Student Services. “This building is home to several of our early childhood programs, including Head Start, Pre-K Counts, and Early Intervention. We strive to cultivate a collaborative and supportive community, and spreading kindness is an essential part of that mission.”

Megan added, “Kindness is at the heart of everything we do, and this Spirit Week is a fun and meaningful way to celebrate it together. Whether through a heartfelt note on the Kindness Wall or participating in a themed dress-up day, these simple acts help create a culture of encouragement and support for both students and staff.”
