The GIANT Company contacted The Pennsylvania Key to facilitate a $200,000 grant program designed to provide funding to child care providers in Pennsylvania facing operational and financial challenges due to the
COVID-19 pandemic.
Child care providers who are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services and the Pennsylvania Office of Child Development and Early Learning began applying for grants up to $10,000 on October 8, 2020.
The Pennsylvania Key was in charge of creating the application and scoring rubric and distributing the pertinent information to child care providers in the 35-county catchment area provided by the GIANT Company.
Approximately 250 child care providers have already applied. The deadline to apply is Friday, November 13, 2020.
Grant funding will help child care centers overcome new challenges created by the pandemic and invest in new measures to help support families struggling to balance work, school, and child care. For full criteria and to apply for funding, visit www.pakeys.org/GIANTprovidergrant.
Recipients will be notified in late November. Funds from the grants will be distributed before the end of the year.
