Social Media Campaign Highlights Importance of Building Resilience in Children

Resilience Definition Graphic

Building resilience in children helps them navigate difficult obstacles and overcome life stressors. That is why the school psychologists in the Berks County Intermediate Unit’s Early Intervention program developed a new social media campaign that aims to educate parents and caregivers on the importance of building resilience in their children, especially during this time of constant change brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

A series of infographics is being developed by the BCIU Creative Team based on the work of Dr. Kenneth Ginsburg, M.D., M.S. Ed., a pediatrician specializing in adolescent medicine at the Children’s Hospital
of Philadelphia and professor of pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine.

The infographics highlight some of the important building blocks of resilience, including creating connections, building empathy, and increasing interactions, making the concepts more easily accessible for parents and caregivers.
