Effective Instruction in Functional Skills for Students with Low Incidence Disabilities addresses functional skill development that is vital to all students, especially students with Low Incidence Disabilities.
The ability to take care of one’s personal, social and recreational, and vocational needs is as important as academic needs.
Being able to identify high priority skills and addressing them in an effective and efficient manner is vital to the independence of students.
Participants will identify what functional skills are and how to address skill needs of individual students. Participants will practice task analyzing skills and writing explicit lesson plans.
