The Berks County Intermediate Unit Early Preschool Intervention Program is a public special education service provided to children, three to five years of age, who are experiencing a delay in development. The program currently serves over 2,100 students in Berks County.

The goal of the program is to provide individualized services to help every child meet their educational needs. Services are provided in classrooms throughout the county. Most classrooms are staffed with low student-to-teacher ratios.

A typical classroom will serve less than 11 students with one teacher and two or more assistant teachers. Itinerant teachers and related services staff provide necessary supports and services within preschool and child care sites throughout the County.
