Assistive Technology is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of a child with a disability. Assistive Technology bridges the gap between a child’s functional skills and his ability to participate in the educational process. It breaks through the barriers associated with vision, hearing, communication, processing, and motor skills to allow students to do the same things as their general education peers.
