Celebrating School Bus Safety at the BCIU

October 17 through 21 marked National School Bus Safety Week. According to the National Association for Pupil Transportation, more than 25 million children ride the yellow bus every school day. School Bus Safety Week serves as a reminder to remain vigilant when near buses and keep school bus safety at the forefront.

School Bus Safety is a team effort. Each day, families, bus drivers, school faculty, and community members work together to safely transport students. The Berks County Intermediate Unit would like to take this opportunity to thank all members of our Transportation program for their commitment, dedication, and efforts towards student safety. Student transportation is an integral component of our organization, and the consistent support to the operation, including the wellbeing of students, is greatly appreciated.

In recognition of National School Bus Safety Week, Mr. Russell Del Rosario, BCIU Safety & Security Program Administrator, visited the BCIU Education Centre on Monday, October 17, to share safety tips with staff and families.
