Dr. Sara George serves as the assistant director of the Office of Early Childhood and Student Services. Dr. Geroge started her career in education in 2007 as an alternative education teacher and moved into her role of Special Education Coordinator in the Alternative Education setting. In 2015, she began working at the BCIU in the Office of Early Childhood and Student Services as a School Age Special Education and Alternative Education Assistant Program Administrator. In 2016, Dr. George was appointed as the Program Administrator of School Age Alternative Education Services. She served in this role until her appointment to assistant director in November 2017.

She earned her dual bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from Bloomsburg University, her Master’s degree in Special Education from St. Joseph’s University, and completed her Special Education Supervisory certification at Penn State University. Dr. George earned her Doctorate degree from Liberty University in 2022.
