BCIU Hosts Employee Self-Care Workshops

In an effort to promote employee wellness during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Berks County Intermediate Unit is hosting a series of virtual self-care workshops. Employees have the opportunity to attend these free sessions to learn about self-care tips, mindfulness practices, and strategies for calming the chaos in their own lives.

The first session was held on December 4, 2020, and featured Carolyn Lamparella, EdS, LPC, Program Director at Preferred EAP, with her presentation titled, “Maintaining your emotional well-being in uncertain times.”

Dr. Steven Keihl, PsyD, LMFT, Utilization Care Manager for Quest Behavioral Health led the second session. Held on January 13, 2021, the program was titled, “COVID, Chaos, and CALM | Finding Peace in the Storms.”

A third session, “Mindful Self-Compassion: Breath, Body, & Mind” will be held on Wednesday, January 27, and will feature Dr. Marnie Aylesworth, Executive Director of The Pennsylvania Key, and Julie Bunnick, E-RYT 200 Yoga Teacher and Lead Specialist, BCIU Creative Team.
