The playground at the Berks County Intermediate Unit Education Centre received a refresh on October 3, 2020. Members of NorthStar United Methodist Church in Exeter Township completed the project as part of a community day of service.
The group designed and painted brightly colored designs on the macadam to encourage children to skip, hop, run, and jump. The group covered the cost of all materials needed and performed all of the work.
The brightly painted activities on the macadam will be very motivating to the children, be a great tool for physical therapists to use with the children, and provides gross motor activities in which children can participate while practicing social distancing.
The project was coordinated by Carol Fritz, a BCIU Early Intervention Paraeducator.
The children and staff of the Education Centre wish to extend their thanks to the volunteers for their in-kind contribution to the playground.
