January is School Director Recognition Month. The Berks County Intermediate Unit (BCIU) is proud to recognize the dedicated service and valuable contributions made by the members of the BCIU Board of Directors. The 18 Board members currently serving the BCIU have a combined total of almost 80 years of service on the BCIU Board.
Board members are elected officials representing the community’s voice in public education. Their work is vital to the success of our students and schools. They serve as volunteers, spending countless hours every month to fulfill their school-related responsibilities and are key decision-makers on issues such as school safety and security, budgeting, policy, hiring, and more.
“The BCIU sincerely appreciates our Board of Directors for their continued service to both their local school districts and the BCIU, as well as their year- round commitment and advocacy for the more than 70,000 students we serve in Berks County. We are thankful for their leadership and guidance so that the BCIU is able to reach its goals, achieve its mission, and move our organization forward.”
-Dr. Jill Hackman, BCIU Executive Director
