During the last week of August, two employees were recognized as BCIU Champions. A BCIU Champion is an individual who goes above and beyond for the sake of the Berks County Intermediate Unit, its students, customers, and partners.
The first BCIU employee who was recognized was Eric Clemmer, Program Administrator of Operations. Mr. Clemmer was honored on Monday, August 27, 2018. He has been with the IU since 1991, and his colleagues consistently praise his ability to exceed expectations in all that he does. “Eric is dependable, diligent, and hardworking. He anticipates the needs of our employees, clients, and community partners and goes above and beyond in meeting those needs,” said Carl Blessing.
The second BCIU employee who was recognized was Thomas Witmer, Tulpehocken Area School District bus driver. On Thursday, August 30, 2018, Executive Director Dr. Jill Hackman and CFO Carl Blessing travelled to Tulpehocken to honor Thomas Witmer and thank the entire Tulpehocken team for all they do to serve our students. Mr. Witmer has been with the IU since 2013. In a recent bus run during the first week of school, Mr. Witmer went above and beyond to ensure the safety of the Tulpehocken Area School District students riding his bus. We thank both of our BCIU Champions for their continued dedication to the BCIU’s mission displaying ‘excellence in education’ on a daily basis.
