NOTICE OF PROFESSIONAL VACANCY

The Twin Valley School District Board of Directors seeks a dynamic individual with integrity, visionary leadership, superior communication skills, and outstanding administrative ability to serve as the assistant superintendent for a district of approximately 3,300 students and $63 million budget, effective February 18, 2019, or upon release date.

The school board directors are proud of the district’s tradition of excellence, have a deep commitment to a high-quality program of education, and recognize that the selection of an assistant superintendent is one of their most important tasks. TIMELINE

  • Notice of Vacancy Posted: Wednesday, December 5, 2018
  • Deadline for Submitting Applications: Tuesday, January 1, 2019
  • Initial Interviews: Tuesday, January 8, and Wednesday, January 9, 2019
  • Second Round Interviews: Tuesday, January 15, or Wednesday, January 16, 2019
  • Final Interviews: Monday, January 21, 2019
  • Board Appointment: Monday, February 18, 2019 (or after)
  • Start Date: To be determined

 
QUALIFICATIONS

The following qualifications are required:

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a superintendent of schools in Pennsylvania;
  • Minimum of 10 years in education; central office or building administrative experience required;
  • Excellent academic credentials; and
  • Doctorate preferred.


The preferred candidate will possess:

  • Qualities and demonstration of servant leadership;
  • History of improving and maintaining high academic performance;
  • Proven track record of leading, supporting, and holding staff accountable;
  • Ability to work with an administrative team to build support for the district’s student-centered vision, mission, and both long and short-term priorities;
  • Experience with development and implementation of curriculum;
  • Knowledge of technological best practices;
  • Understanding of rules and regulations that accompany the management and implementation of student services and special education;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and leadership skills; and
  • Success in community engagement/involvement.


COMPENSATION

Commensurate with accomplishments; fringe benefits package negotiable.
