NOTICE OF PROFESSIONAL VACANCY

The Tulpehocken Area School District Board of Directors seeks a dynamic individual with integrity, visionary leadership, superior communication skills, and outstanding administrative ability to lead a district of over 1,400 students and $30.7 million budget.

The school board directors are proud of the district’s tradition of excellence, have a deep commitment to a high-quality program of education, and recognize that the selection of a superintendent is one of their most important tasks. All qualified candidates will be given careful consideration.

TIMELINE

  • Notice of Vacancy Posted: January 24, 2018
  • Deadline for Submitting Applications: February 19, 2018
  • SPARK Hire Invitations Sent to Qualified Candidates: February 21, 2018
  • Initial Interviews: March 13, 2018
  • Second Round Interviews: March 26, 2018
  • Board Appointment: April 17, 2018
  • Tentative Start Date: July 1, 2018

 
QUALIFICATIONS

The following qualifications are required:

  • Pennsylvania Superintendent Letter of Eligibility;
  • Minimum of 10 years in education; central office or building administrative experience; and
  • Excellent academic credentials.


The preferred candidate must possess:

  • Experience in achieving high academic performance, creating academic equity, and sound school finance and business management;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and leadership skills;
  • Experience with development and implementation of curriculum;
  • Understanding of student services/special education;
  • Knowledge of educational and technological best practices; and
  • Success in community engagement and involvement.


COMPENSATION

Commensurate with accomplishments; fringe benefits package negotiable.
