2017 student art show
The yearly Secondary Art Exhibit, coordinated by the Berks County Intermediate Unit since 1981, was held from February 25 through March 12, 2017 in the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts. All 18 school districts as well as Berks Catholic High School and Berks Career and
Technology Center participated in the exhibit, showcasing their art pieces in 16 categories including wheel-thrown pottery, hand-built
pottery, black and white photography, color photography, sculpture, acrylic/ oil painting, watercolor, color drawing, black and white drawing, printmaking, mixed media/collage, computer art, altered photography and design, and jewelry and textiles.

A reception was held on Sunday, March 5, from 1:00-3:00 p.m., at the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts to acknowledge the students’ work. Special awards were presented by the BCIU, Reading-Berks Guild of Craftsmen, and Berks Art Council. In addition, GoggleWorks honored several students with a Summer Ambassador Fellowship, made possible through a generous donation by Ray and Carole Neag in support of arts education.
