Wonder Kids Club

The ECYEH program at the Berks County Intermediate Unit is proud to host the Wonder Kids Club during the summer months.

These fun and educational workshops utilize robotics and Legos to enhance student skills in science, technology, engineering, and math. Through the use of iPads and Bluetooth technology, students will learn the basics of computer programming and bring their creations to life!

The goal of these workshops is to introduce children to an exciting learning environment that will teach age-appropriate problem-solving, teamwork, and cooperation through guided lessons and hands-on play.

The program’s friendly Dash and Dot robots bring an extra source of fun to the program. These robots, which interact with each other, have a variety of attachments that allow the children to play musical instruments, launch small objects and bulldoze block formations through computer programing.

Last year’s camp was held at the Reading Opportunity Center for Children (ROCC) from June 12 through August 4 (skipping the 4th of July week). Weekly workshops were also provided at the Salvation Army of Reading. All workshops were customized to meet the academic level and age of participating children, which ranged in age from 4-15.

The 2018 Wonder Kids Club dates have not been set.
