The Office of Business Services directs the financial operation of the BCIU and provides business administration consulting services to school districts and nonprofit organizations. In addition, the office provides accounting, budgeting, audit, payroll, and support services to all BCIU departments. The office offers these services and others, including printing, duplicating, microfilming, and document imaging, to an expanding list of clients and partners.
Mr. George M. Longridge serves as chief financial officer and chief operating officer for the Berks County Intermediate Unit. Before joining the BCIU, Mr. Longridge served as business manager and treasurer for the Elizabethtown Area School District for over 12 years. He also previously held business manager positions at both Lebanon and Upper Dauphin Area School Districts.
Outside of the educational field, Mr. Longridge has extensive experience in both public and private sectors including manufacturing, technology, and retail/wholesale distribution. He has a proven ability to improve operations, impact organizational performance, and minimize costs through initiatives in financial and personnel management, cooperative purchasing, internal controls, and efficiency improvements.
Mr. Longridge holds his Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Pennsylvania State University, Harrisburg. He received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Syracuse University. He also holds professional memberships with the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO International) and the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials (PASBO).
Donna DeLoretta serves as the assistant director of Business Services. Before joining the BCIU, she began her career in the private sector with AT&T/Lucent Technologies/Agere Systems as a financial planning consultant and later as a business planning manager. Donna started with the BCIU in June 2005 as a fiscal specialist and became a fiscal project manager in 2006. She was named project administrator in 2007 and assistant program administrator in 2009.
Donna graduated from Millersville University of Pennsylvania with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, area of concentration in accounting, and holds a MBA from St. Joseph’s University. She is a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Business Officials (PASBO) and the Mid-East chapter of PASBO.
