Learning Virtually Workshop Series
(These workshops are for educators only.)
Berks County Intermediate Unit’s Educational Technology Services (ETS) Department has reinvented its learning opportunities using the power of the regional Wide Area Network (WAN). We will be offering the following schedule of 21st century “Classrooms of the Future” e-learning topics:
- Elluminate - Introduction to using “live” web conferencing. (This is the virtual environment that will be used for all of these virtual workshops.)
- Nettrekker d.i. – Learn how to navigate this comprehensive environment to find web resources for educators and students.
- United Streaming - Strategies and resources for using digital curricular media. Learn how to seamlessly integrate into any curriculum more than 4,000 full-length videos segmented into 40,000 content-specific clips. Today, one million educators and 30 million students in more than half of U.S. schools learn with Discovery Education streaming; you can too by attending this workshop.
- Finding and Using Internet 2 Effectively in the Classroom - Learn all about the high power Internet 2 resources delivered to you on the regional WAN.
- Introduction to Web 2.0 for Educators – Learn all about wikis, blogs and podcasts and find out how you can use them in your classroom.
There is no cost to participate in any of these sessions as they are funded by PA Act 183. Each session will be approximately one-hour long. Choose a session that best fits your schedule.
You will need a multimedia-capable computer connected to the Internet to participate.
To register for a session, simply send an email to stetro@berksiu.org indicating which session you plan to attend. Please register at least 72 hours prior to the actual event. An email response will be sent back to you confirming participation. It will include all of the information required for you to participate.
These trainings are eligible for Act 48 hours.
