"Inside Berks Business is a great vehicle for educators to get a look
inside at what's happening in many industries in Berks County. Teachers
can experience a day in the life with people who are actually doing the
job. They in turn take that information back to the classroom so the
students also benefit from this experience. And with the reformatted
structure, we have seen a resurgence in interest. Connecting classroom
with industry is a definite win-win for the students! "

2008 Business Partners

Berks County businesses to school personnel: “Welcome. Come on in!”

Local businesses opened their doors to the education community by hosting Inside Berks Business interns during summer 2008. Many business sectors were represented, including art and culture, entertainment, financial services, health care, law and consulting services, manufacturing, retail, small business, and utilities.

Sixteen employers gave 27 teachers and guidance counselors an inside look at their companies. Educators learned about challenges the businesses are facing and gained appreciation for the career opportunities that those companies present to the Berks County workforce.
