EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION PROJECT (ECEP)

This proactive initiative combines Child Care, Early Intervention, and Head Start with the intent to establish classroom environments (academic and social) that support and combine children from all three programs. 

The project has been developed with the idea of providing a means by which the various programs may work together at the same site to offer the ultimate in early childhood education opportunities. The project will prepare students for a seamless transition into a standards-based environment in basic education and will offer a continuum of educational opportunities ranging from assessment of students' strengths and needs to individual adaptations and enrichment activities.

ECEP sites have been established at River's Chase, BCIU Early Childhood Center (Reading), Hamburg, Highlands (West Reading), and the BCIU Education Centre.
