BCTC Launches Sports Medicine &
Rehabilitative Therapy
Are you interested in an exciting career in sports training & fitness?
Then Sports Medicine & Rehabilitative Therapy may be right for you!

BCTC will begin offering this exciting new program this fall at the East Campus in Oley. Instruction will include theory and applications related to: strength training and high intensity training, weight management, nutrition, resistance training, exercise programming, exercise physiology, mental health and wellness, anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, athletic training, injury recognition and management, rehabilitation and restorative care, and medical terminology. The program will be instructed by Mr. Scott Cote, an experienced Exercise Physiologist and Physical Therapist Assistant.
Students will learn to design safe and effective exercise prescriptions, conduct individual exercise programs, and fitness testing. Students will be prepared to assist in rehabilitative services under the supervision of physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and other therapeutic professionals, and to perform routine functions in support of rehabilitation.
Students may seek employment in a wide variety of settings that include fitness clubs, hospitals, corporate wellness programs, strength and conditioning, and

clinical rehabilitation programs. In addition, the program will serve as a strong foundation for students wishing to pursue advanced degrees in the field of exercise science or enter professional disciplines such as physical or occupational therapy.
Graduates of this program are well prepared for entry level employment in rehabilitative services or continued higher education. Students therefore will be required to schedule and maintain strong academic coursework along with the BCTC curriculum. Internship opportunities and dual program college coursework will be developed to support the program.
