The Berks county Intermediate Unit has recently been designated a Confucius Classroom by the Hanban. The Asian Studies Collaborative applied for the Confucius Classroom designation through the Confucius Institute at the University of Pittsburgh. Confucius Classrooms are an extension of the government affiliated Hanban Chinese Language Council International Confucius Institute program.
