Years of Service to Berks County Families:
BCIU has been transporting students with special needs since 1971; we began transporting regular education students in 1996.

Safety Record:
BCIU school buses and vans travel more than 4,600,000 miles per year. Our safety record is excellent and contains very few reportable incidents. While we recognize that accidents do happen, we work every day to ensure the constant safety of our students and staff.

Fleet Size: 215 school buses, 69 additional vehicles

Vehicle Inspection Schedule:
BCIU state-certified mechanics perform state safety inspections on school buses and vans twice a year and on trucks and cars once a year. In addition, each summer, the fleet undergoes a four-day state police inspection, during which the vehicles are scrutinized inside and out to ensure total compliance with Pennsylvania school bus safety regulations.
