Gifted Network
Teachers of the gifted meet on a quarterly basis to learn the latest requirements from the Pennsylvania Department of Education and the latest in research and information on gifted education. Sample topics addressed during meetings include:
- Utilizing distance learning to individualize gifted programming
- Gifted screening and identification procedures
- Meeting the needs of gifted students within the regular education classroom
Networking opportunities for job-alike sharing also is provided.
In addition, ample time is allowed for job-alike sharing sessions where teachers can share best-practice instructional strategies with their colleagues. All Berks County teachers of the gifted are invited to attend.
All meetings run from 12-3 p.m. at the BCIU.
