JOINT PURCHASING information FOR SCHOOLS
By operating according to established procedures for quotations, bids, and purchases, the Berks County Joint Purchasing Board ensures economical procurement of supplies and services required by members of the consortium.
Economies of scale in purchasing are available for a wide variety of items, such as copy paper, canned and frozen foods, food service paper products, electric lamps and ballasts, janitorial supplies, trash removal, and classroom and office supplies.
The Berks County Joint Purchasing Board's bids are available to all 18 school districts and the two career and technology centers of Berks County at no charge. Eighteen bids are planned for purchases to be made in the 2011-2012 fiscal year.

- Physical education equipment and supplies
- Trash Removal Services (two-year bid; current one expires June 30, 2011)
