In an effort to introduce girls to career opportunities in science and technology, the Berks County Intermediate Unit and Penn State Berks host a “Girls in Technology Day” each year in the fall at the BCIU for girls in grades 6-9 and their families.

Students have the opportunity to talk with women students at Penn State Berks who are pursuing majors in math, science, physics, biochemistry, pre-medicine, pre-veterinary medicine, computer science, and other technology fields to find out why they chose those majors, what types of careers they intend to pursue after graduation, and their experiences as a student in these fields.
