
BCIU SERVICES
BCIU’s Pregnant and Parenting Teen services are designed for the teen parent who is struggling with balancing school, family, and work responsibilities.
A seamless network of services is provided in the following areas:
- Individual and group supportive services
- Vocational and career exploration
- Healthcare and nutrition education
- Child development and parenting education
- Child care and transportation referrals
- Assistance with transition to employment, further education, or training after high school
- Home visitations
- Activities, workshops, and field trips
- GED and academic support
- Budgeting and family planning education
- Case management services
- Support services during the summer
BCIU Pregnant and Parenting Teen Services are:
- Staffed with case managers who are sensitive to the individual situation of each student
- Offers a unique program with flexible hours to accommodate students’ schedules
- Develops partnerships with school districts and health and human services agencies
- Helps students utilize valuable community resources
- Provides creative educational, personal, and career development activities
Who is eligible?
Pregnant or parenting teens who are under age 22 and are enrolled in a Berks County school or GED program are eligible for services.
