The Office of Innovation and Technology supports the core technology and operational requirements of the Berks County Intermediate Unit’s approximately 100 programs by insuring that staff members and programs have the necessary access to information, applications, and supporting technology.

Additionally, the office is responsible to the broader community of technology users at our member school districts in providing applications support for a variety of systems and services that support the daily operations of these constituent organizations.

Our services in these areas span the spectrum, from PC hardware repair to applications development of property tax billing/tracking systems.

The Office of Innovation and Technology is composed of three programs:

Asian Studies Collaborative (ASC)
Network and Computing Services (NCS)
Software Applications Services (SAS)

Bill Miller serves as the director of Innovation and Technology and chief information officer. He joined the BCIU in 2006 with more than 25 years of IT experience in private industry. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Millersville University and an MBA from St. Joseph’s University.

Cherie Zimmerman serves as the assistant director of Innovation and Technology.
