Human Resources Department

The BCIU’s Department of Human Resources is a full-service operation providing the intermediate unit’s 1,300+ full-time, part-time, and substitute personnel with a variety of services pertinent to their employment.

The department reports to the BCIU’s executive director and has responsibility for:

Recruitment
New hire orientation
Teacher certification
Benefits administration, including:

Health care
Retirement
Unemployment compensation
Workers’ compensation
COBRA

Compensation determination
Attendance tracking, including Family and Medical Leave
Policy development and administration
Administration of collective bargaining and other employment agreements
Compliance with labor and employment laws
Employee training
